Award-winning indie filmmaker Hannah Espia is directing this intriguing new teleserye
Mild spoiler: Paulo Avelino plays a man who can't die.
(SPOT.ph) For fans of local indie films, the name Hannah Espia should ring a bell. She's the award-winning director behind the 2013 indie film Transit, which garnered critical acclaim internationally and took home accolades from Cinemalaya and Gawad Urian.
The filmmaker is now entering the small-screen with a new teleserye in ABS-CBN. Aptly titled The Promise of Forever, the series stars Paulo Avelino as a man who is cursed with immortality. The trailer follows him through the decades up until the present day, where he meets a woman (newcomer Ritz Azul) who may have ties to his past.
The cast also includes Ejay Falcon, Cherry Pie Picache, Tonton Gutierrez, Amy Austria, Benjie Paras, and Sarah Lahbati. Even more interestingly, the trailer also gives a glimpse at picturesque views from across Europe.
Espia helms the show alongside Nathaniel director, Darnel Villaflor. An exact release date has yet to be announced, but expect it to hit TV screens this 2017.
