Catch a 20-minute Heneral Luna spin-off in cinemas this month
It's your first look at Paulo Avelino's solo film as Gregorio del Pilar.
(SPOT.ph) Remember when 2015's Heneral Luna made a giant splash in the local box-office? Well, his story isn't over—not exactly.
On February 15, fans will finally get a first look at the next installment of Jerrold Tarog's historical trilogy centering around Gregorio del Pilar. The 20-minute short film, entitled Angelito, will be released theatrically alongside the highly anticipated rom-com, I'm Drunk, I Love You. Yes, that's two awesome movies for the price of one!
Loosely based on true events, Angelito revolves around Antonio Luna's two aides-de-camp, Jose and Manuel Bernal (Alex Medina and Art Acuña, respectively), after Luna's assassination. The short spin-off will bridge the events of Heneral Luna to Tarog's next full-length installment, Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.
Paulo Avelino will reprise his scene-stealing role as del Pilar, and he also stars in I'm Drunk, I Love You alongside Maja Salvador. As for his solo film as Goyo, it goes into production this 2017.
