Get excited: Pixar is offering a free online storytelling course

We'll say it again: Free!

( Nobody tells a unique and heartfelt story quite like Pixar. They just have an uncanny ability to make audiences relate and fall with in love with talking fish, monsters in your closet, and even your own brain.

If you've always aspired to learn their secrets, the animation studio has partnered up with online education provider Khan Academy for online storytelling classes. Best of all, they're all absolutely for free.

The Art of Storytelling explores Pixar's process in creating compelling narratives with a richly developed universe. Its third installment, in particular, sources lessons from the studio's biggest directors and story artists, including Pete Docter (director of Inside Out and Up), Mark Andrews (director of Brave), and Sanjay Patel (story artist of Ratatouille).

The lessons have already begun and will continue throughout 2017. The Art of Storytelling is just one of many courses under Pixar Academy; you can also opt for a more technical route and learn all about Simulation, Character Modeling, Animation, and more.
