MTRCB gives Jerrold Tarog's Bliss an uncut R-18 rating

(SPOT.ph) It looks like movie fans will get to see Jerrold Tarog's controversial new thriller after all. According to the Heneral Luna director (below), Bliss has been re-reviewed by the MTRCB and now reclassified R-18 without cuts. Tarog will reportedly produce an R-16 version that will also be subject to another review.

The film was initially given an "X" rating, reportedly due to its violence, graphic nudity, and other strong adult themes. On Monday, April 3, Bliss was screened for free at UP Diliman's Cine Adarna, where it was warmly received by fans.

The film is now officially set for a May 10 release in theaters. It stars Iza Calzado, TJ Trinidad, and Ian Veneracion, and was screened at the recent Osaka Asian Film Festival, where Calzado took home a Best Actress trophy for her performance.
