WATCH: This LGBT-themed Animated Film Will Melt Your Heart

Love wins!

(SPOT.ph) An animated short film by filmmakers Beth David and Esteban Bravo from the Florida-based Ringling College of Art and Design went viral today, garnering over five million views on YouTube. Entitled In a Heartbeat, it follows the story of a teenage boy whose heart literally follows the boy of his dreams.

A Kickstarter fund was activated as early as 2016 and finally, a trailer was uploaded in May. This generated interest for more people, who donated money for that final push of the project.

In an Instagram post, Bravo shared a screenshot of the video with the caption, “Beth David and I put all of our hearts into making this film for the past year and a half and we're ecstatic to share it with you all.”

Aside from the overall aesthetic, people are praising the film for its courage in telling the story of same-gendered love, a topic not often portrayed in animation. Fans have also taken to Twitter to share fan art that they've made to show support for the film.
