Sharon Cuneta’s Indie Film Debut Hits Nationwide Cinemas This Month
It's her first indie film after over 30 years in the industry.
(SPOT.ph) It’s been a while since we last saw Sharon Cuneta on the big screen. It was only during last August’s Cinemalaya Film Festival that she returned—and in her first indie film, no less. After a series of sold-out screenings during Cinemalaya, Ang Pamilyang Hindi Lumuluha will now be getting a nationwide release starting tomorrow, September 6. (A list of cinemas has yet to be announced.)
Directed by Mes de Guzman, the dramedy depicts Cora (Cuneta) as she searches for the mythical family that doesn’t weep so that she, in turn, can be reunited with her own missing family. Her emotional longing alternates with hilarious banter with her quirky-but-difficult house helper, Bebang (Moi Bien).
The film also stars Niño Muhlach, Cris Villanueva, Richard Quan, Kiko Matos, Michelle Vito, Joe Gruta, among others. Musician Ely Buendia also composed and produced the film’s theme song entitled, “Gabi Man, May Araw Din.”
