WATCH: This Record-Breaking Korean Horror Film Is in Cinemas This Month

It's from the same people who made Train to Busan.

( You might still be feeling a bit brave after making it out of It alive. Or maybe you want something a bit edgier than your average K-Drama. Well, it’s time to call up your friends because this record-breaking 2017 Korean horror film starts screening on September 13 at SM Cinemas nationwide.

The Mimic revolves around Hee-yeon (Yum Jung-ah), a mom who moves with her husband and daughter to the countryside after her son disappears. She then comes across a little girl whom she welcomes into their home. Eventually, the little girl starts mimicking the way Hee-yeon’s daughter talks and also starts calling the former her “mom.”

The Mimic is reportedly the first horror film in four years to sell one million tickets in South Korea. It's directed by Huh Jung, whose debut work Hide and Seek received critical praise. Get ready to sleep with the lights on.
