The Smaller and Smaller Circles Movie Is Finally Getting a World Premiere
Their first stop? Korea!
(SPOT.ph) We're one step closer to seeing Smaller and Smaller Circles on the big screen! The highly anticipated adaptation will have its world premiere at this year's Busan International Film Festival, as part of its "A Window on Asian Cinema" category. The prestigious Korean festival runs from October 12 to 21.
Based on the 2002 Palanca-winning crime novel by F.H. Batacan, Smaller primarily takes place in Quezon City, where the mutilated bodies of impoverished young boys are being dumped. Nobody takes notice until two Jesuit priests investigate.
A full trailer and Philippine release date have yet to be announced, but according to the film's Facebook page, it will "definitely" hit local theaters in 2017.
Smaller is directed by Raya Martin, and stars Nonie Buencamino, Sid Lucero, Carla Humphries, and Bembol Roco. You can catch a glimpse of their theatrical trailer during screenings at Cinema '76 Film Society; an online version will reportedly be released very soon.
