(SPOT.ph) With the release of anticipated blockbusters like Blade Runner and Thor: Ragnarok, as well as the upcoming QCinema International Film Festival, it seems there's no shortage of exciting new movies headed our way.
True enough, another intriguing new title is hitting Philippine cinemas this month, and it's already impressed critics across the globe. Bad Genius revolves around a brilliant high-school student who devises an elaborate exam-cheating scheme to make money.
If the lengthy trailer (above) is anything to go by, the Thai blockbuster looks to be a cross between the slick and mesmerizing heists of Ocean's Eleven and the complicated young adult problems of your favorite teen movie. The film has been screened in various festivals, including New York Asian Film Festival, Fantastic Film, and BFI London. It was also hailed as the highest-grossing Asian film in Cambodia, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.
Locally, Bad Genius hits major cinemas this October 18.
