WATCH: This Heartbreaking Indie Film Examines How Relationships Fall Apart

It's based on a Palanca-winning play!

(SPOT.ph) The upcoming Cinema One Originals film festival is filled with must-see titles both locally and internationally. If you find your schedule pretty tight this month, however, you should definitely make time for a good handful—including this new gem from director Dan Villegas.

Changing Partners examines the complicated relationship between Alex and Cris, who are aged a generation apart. What makes the story particularly fascinating is that throughout the film, their genders will switch. Cris is now the older man while Alex is the younger woman, sometimes they will both be women with a wide age gap, other times they will be both men with the same age gap. You get the idea.

Based on a Palanca-winning play by Vincent de Jesus, it was later staged at Virgin Labfest in 2016 then given the full stage treatment at PETA. It stars Agot Isidro and Jojit Lorenzo as Alex, alongside Anna Luna and Sandino Martin as Cris.

Changing Partners will start screening from November 14 to 28 at select cinemas in Trinoma, Glorietta, UP Cine Adarna, Gateway, Cinematheque Centre Manila, Robinsons Galleria, and Power Plant Mall.
