(SPOT.ph) It was a great year for music fans in the Metro, as we were treated to live shows from the likes of Ariana Grande, Phoenix, Coldplay, and Britney Spears. Manila’s thriving concert scene continues to grow well into 2018 with a new roster of musicians set to take the stage. Here are some of the upcoming concerts to catch in the first half of 2018.

 

This list will be updated as new concerts are announced.

 

 

Foster The People

When: January 26

Where: Kia Theatre

 

The last time indie music fans saw Foster The People live was in 2012 when the band launched their first studio album, Torches. Several albums later, they are all set to return to perform new tracks from their latest offering, Sacred Hearts Club.

The xx

When: February 7

Where: World Trade Center Manila

 

If you missed The xx’s sold-out show in 2013, here’s your chance to finally see this English pop band in the flesh! Their ongoing Asia tour starts in 2018 and includes stopovers in Hong Kong, Jakarta, Taipei, Osaka, and Tokyo.

Incubus

When: February 17

Where: Smart Araneta Coliseum

 

Who needs to spend for a Valentine’s Day date when you can splurge on tickets to Incubus’ third show in Manila? The band’s upcoming concert is part of their ongoing tour to promote their newest album, 8. Tickets officially go on sale starting November 21.

Paramore

When: February 18

Where: Mall of Asia Arena

 

It was in 2010 when Paramore rocked the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds, followed by a 2013 show at the Mall of Asia Arena. Whether this is your first Paramore show or you just want to relive their music all over again, this is your chance to snag tickets ASAP.

Fifth Harmony

When: March 6

Where: Kia Theatre

 

For a dose of girl power, don’t miss out on Fifth Harmony’s second show in Manila! Despite the rather controversial departure of member Camila Cabello, the girl group is still going strong with a successful sophomore album.

Wanderland Music & Arts Festival

When: March 10

Where: Filinvest City Events Grounds Alabang

 

Now a yearly staple for indie music fans, you can always count on Wanderland Music & Arts Festival to fill your summer with independent music from foreign and local artists alike. A full lineup has yet to be announced as of writing, but we do know that solo act Lauv will be performing.

John Legend

When: March 21

Where: Smart Araneta Coliseum

 

Ready to have a romantic night with your significant other? John Legend is bringing his swoon-worthy ballads to Manila for a one-night-only concert this March. He is best known for tracks like “All Of Me,” “Ordinary People,” and “Tonight (Best You Ever Had).”

Paradise International Music Festival

When: Summer 2018

Where: TBA

 

It still seems hard to believe that a first-time music festival managed to bring Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa to Manila. Now, hip-hop and R&B fans are eagerly waiting what surprises Paradise IMF has in store for the summer! (We have our fingers crossed for Kendrick Lamar.)

Ed Sheeran

When: April 8

Where: Mall of Asia Concert Grounds

 

Thanks to a cycling accident, Ed Sheeran’s highly anticipated concert in November had to be postponed so the singer could recuperate. Don’t worry, though; the rescheduled show is slated for April and your old tickets are still valid for the new show.

The Script

When: April 14

Where: Mall of Asia Arena

 

Your favorite Irish rock trio is back in Manila for the fourth time! The Script’s ongoing tour to promote their new album, Freedom Child, will have a special treat for super-fans. The VIP Experience promises an “exclusive 2018 tour VIP gift,” a VIP tote bag, a signed 2018 tour program, and a commemorative VIP laminate and custom lanyard.

Harry Styles

The folks who brought you Coldplay in 2017 have so much more in store for next year. Harry Styles’ first tour—and return to Manila—is easily one of the most anticipated concerts of 2018. He's also bringing indie rock band Warpaint as his opening act, so you're sure to have an epic night.

Bruno Mars

At this point, there aren’t any more 24K Magic Tour tickets up for grabs, but what’s a 2018 concert roundup if we don’t include this talented musician? Despite a hefty price tag, tickets for the first night sold out in just an hour—which led to a second show the following night.
