WATCH: The Director of Die Beautiful Returns With a Quirky Rom-Com You Need to See
Can a modern-day relationship survive without technology?
(SPOT.ph) Think about modern-day relationships and how much they rely on the Internet. All those Instagram couple photos, food shots during your date night, texting each other all day long...you get the drill. Now, a new indie film explores love in the time of technology, and its fun and quirky trailer already
The aptly named Ang Babaeng Allergic Sa Wi-Fi stars Sue Ramirez as Norma, a social media-obsessed teenager who has gone as far as to create a joint Instagram account with her boyfriend. The twist? It turns out that she has a rare illness called electromagnetic hypersensitivity: In short, she can't be around gadgets or even WiFi.
For her safety, she must live in a far-flung place with no signal, all while she copes with being in a long-distance relationship. The film also stars Jameson Blake (2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten), Jerome Ponce, and Boots Anson-Roa.
This is director Jun Robles Lana's return to the big screen after wowing audiences and critics with his MMFF 2016 entry, Die Beautiful. So far, an exact release date for Wi-Fi has yet to be announced, but expect it to hit cinemas in 2018.
