(SPOT.ph) It's safe to say that 2017 was the year of local ads stepping up their game, from creative and LOL-worthy commercials to lengthy short films that will tug at your heartstrings. Back in September, Acer Philippines reunited Empoy Marquez and Alessandra De Rossi in a heartfelt commercial set in Singapore.
They've worked their magic yet again, this time bringing together JM De Guzman and Jennylyn Mercado in their latest Christmas ad. We won't spoil the story too much, but its "The One That Got Away" theme will likely hit close to home to a lot of you.
Prior to this ad (which now boasts over 3 million views as of writing), the two were slated to star in the 2015 MMFF entry, Walang Forever. JM had to drop out due to personal issues, and he was later replaced by Jericho Rosales.
JM's showbiz comeback also includes a return to Star Cinema, as well as an untitled film with independent production company TBA Studios. He left the spotlight to enter rehab and in October, he announced that he was two years sober.
He is best known for his versatile acting, which he displayed in award-winning indie films like Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank, Imbisibol, and most popularly, That Thing Called Tadhana.
