We Found the Perfect Pinoy Indie Film to Watch This Month If You Miss Summer

Apocalypse Child is screening all December!

(SPOT.ph) With all the heavy traffic, rush shopping, and holiday deadlines, it's pretty easy to start daydreaming about relaxing by the beach, miles away from all the Manila chaos. Summer isn't coming any time soon, but luckily we have movies to give us a temporary escape.

If you happen to be in the Maginhawa area this December, drop by Cinema Centenario, a newly opened microcinema that screens independent movies and documentaries. They recently launched the Maginhawa Film Festival, which runs until December 30, and includes screenings of the critically acclaimed 2015 movie, Apocalypse Child.

Originally an entry (and now Best Picture winner) at the QCinema International Film Festival, it stars Sid Lucero as Ford, a surfer whose free-spirited lifestyle is shattered when his past and interesting parentage come back to haunt him. Think of it as a visually stunning trip to sunny and laid-back Baler!

Apocalypse Child is screening alongside other films, including RespetoAng Huling Cha-Cha Ni Anita, and more. Tickets are priced at P200.

For ticket reservations, contact 0995-457-2008 with your name, preferred screening schedule, and number of tickets. For the full screening schedule and more information, log on to Cinema Centenario's official Facebook page.
