LOOK: The Director of Birdshot Is Doing a New Horror-Mystery Movie
...starring Bea Alonzo!
His latest film—now with Star Cinema—is a "horror-mystery" entitled Eerie and stars Pinoy cinema heavyweights, Bea Alonzo and Charo Santos-Concio. This would be Bea's first foray into the horror genre, and Charo's second after Mike De Leon's Itim in 1976.
In a previous interview with SPOT.ph, Red said that Eerie has long been in the works. In January 2017, the film won at the 21st Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (Bifan) in South Korea, besting 15 other entries in the festival's movie-pitching forum.
According to Bifan's website, the film is set in the late '90s and centers on a murder in a conservative all-girls high school. With no witness to the crime, the school's clairvoyant guidance counselor turns to the sole watcher of the school: The ghost of a former student who committed suicide on campus years ago.
Eerie will reportedly make its international premiere in July 2018 in Bifan.
