Catch One More Chance, Sana Maulit Muli, and More Pinoy Classics on the Big Screen This Month
Along with the newly restored version of Aga Muhlach and Aiko Melendez's May Minamahal!
(SPOT.ph) There's no denying that Filipino films have been getting better and better each year—from relatable indie gems like I'm Drunk, I Love You and Kita Kita to movie-musicals like Ang Larawan and Changing Partners. But there's nothing like classic Pinoy films that have stood the test of time—sometimes thanks to the magic of digital restoration and remastering. And it seems like the love for these films—like One More Chance, Sana Maulit Muli, and Labs Kita, Okey Ka Lang?—have stood the test of time as well, because you can catch them back on the big screen at Power Plant Mall Cinema 1 from February 21 to 27.
Also included in the lineup of films is Director Joey Javier Reyes' newly restored film, May Minamahal. Back in January, Leo Katigbak, the head of ABS-CBN Film Restoration and Archives posted sneak peeks of the restored version of the film, which stars Aga Muhlach and Aiko Melendez. In his captions, Katigbak shares that the film was "previously thought unrestorable" because of complications with the original material. But it looks like they've proven that wrong, and now the finished product is finally here.
Other movies that will also be screening include previously restored films such as 1975's Tag-Ulan Sa Tag-Araw, 1977's Kung Mangarap Ka't Magising, 1978's Ikaw ay Akin, 1980's Langis at Tubig, 1981's Karma, and 1982's Moral.
