LOOK: '90s Child Star Serena Dalrymple Hints at Why She's Returning to the Philippines
With a throwback post of her most memorable ad.
(SPOT.ph) It's already been more than two decades since one of the most memorable Jollibee commercials came out, but it might still be crystal clear for those who grew up in the '90s. In the feel-good ad, a bunch of kids are playing a game of charades with Aga Muhlach, who acts out eating Chickenjoy, making everyone crave for it. Aga then brings the kids to Jollibee and treats them to the fast-food's popular meal.
While eating the meal, one of the kids—Serena Dalrymple—continues the game of charades they were playing earlier. Aga is confused and says she's just dancing but then Serena explains what she's really doing—she's asking for "Isa pa, isa pang Chickenjoy!" And so, it became one of the most unforgettable one-liners of all-time.
This commercial is one of the many reasons why Serena became one of the most well-known child stars of the '90s. (She was probably in every film you watched while growing up!) With Aga recently starring in a throwback commercial with his family (that was also a nod to their old commercial), you can expect that the U.S.-based Serena would be heading back to the Philippines to do just the same.
In an Instagram post on February 25, Serena posted a short clip of her old commercial and announced that she's coming back to the Philippines in April. In her caption she says, "Can’t wait!!! My first meal? Hmmmmm...Chickenjoy?" along with the hashtags, #21yearsago and #chickenjoygirl. It looks like she's hinting at a new ad just like that of Aga's! What do you think?
