LOOK: Jake Cuenca Joins Bea Alonzo and Charo Santos-Concio in a New Horror Flick
It's directed by Birdshot's Mikhail Red!
(SPOT.ph) After his last film, Birdshot, was submitted as the Philippines' official entry to the 90th Academy Awards, director Mikhail Red is back—this time with Eerie, a horror-mystery movie made with Star Cinema.
Red revealed in a previous interview with SPOT.ph that the supernatural horror flick has long been in the making. But it was only announced in December 2017 that the film will star Bea Alonzo and Charo Santos-Concio, two of the biggest names in the industry. It will be Alonzo's first horror movie, and will be Santos-Concio's second, after Itim in 1976, which was directed by Mike de Leon.
Now, the film is adding another big name to its lineup: Jake Cuenca. He posted an Instagram photo of him and Alonzo on March 6, captioned with, "At the workshop," adding that he's excited to be working with Alonzo and Red.
Set in the late '90s, the movie revolves around a clairvoyant guidance counselor trying to solve a murder committed in the religious all-girls school where she works.
The film is slated to premiere at the 21st Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival this July 2018. It won against 15 other films at the festival's movie-pitching forum in 2017.
