WATCH: This Animated Pinoy Comedy Features a Star-Studded Voice Cast
Including Angelica Panganiban, Sam Milby, Empoy Marquez, and Arci Muñoz!
(SPOT.ph) Having a star-studded cast isn't something new for Pinoy movies. You've got blockbuster family comedies like Four Sisters and a Wedding and dramas like Seven Sundays. But what we rarely come across, though, are animated movies voiced by the same people you see in movies and on TV screens. That's why Hayop Ka! The Nimfa Dimaano Story The Movie is another movie to look forward to—in addition to the quirky and interesting story, of course.
Angelica Panganiban voices the titular Nimfa, a perfume saleslady-cat. In the teaser, she's caught by her mutt-boyfriend Roger (Robin Padilla) sneaking back home after a night with her lover, the successful business-dog Iñigo (Sam Milby). Roger gets Nimfa to admit that she wasn't with her best friend Jhermelyn (presumably played by Arci Muñoz). But when Roger starts insulting Nimfa and calling her names, she retaliates and answers back. The movie also features the voice of funnyman Empoy Marquez.
The short teaser—without the voice cast—was originally uploaded on October 2017 by the film's director, Avid Liongoren, who is also behind the animated movie, Saving Sally. Hayop Ka! is produced by Spring Films (which was founded by Piolo Pascual), the same production company behind Kita Kita and Meet Me in St. Gallen. There's no word yet on when the movie comes out, but fingers (and paws) crossed, it'll be within the year!
