This Dark New Thriller Features the Breathtaking Shores of Batanes
Anne Curtis is back with another movie for the 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival.
(SPOT.ph) It’s been a busy year for Anne Curtis. From a not-so-light romance film, Sid & Aya (Not a Love Story) to the violently explosive BuyBust, it seems that her roles are just getting darker and darker. And it looks like she's continuing her streak with a supernatural thriller called Aurora. It’s set to premiere on December 25, as part of the 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival.
In the short teaser, Leana (Curtis) tells the story of a ship named Aurora that crashed against the rocky shores of her island hometown. The accident killed 1,000 people on the spot. And while most of the bodies have been recovered, Leana makes it her mission to find the rest as they continue to show up on the island’s shores, disturbing their peaceful town.
The movie, directed by Yam Laranas, was shot on location in Batanes Island. In previous Instagram posts, Curtis talked about falling in love with the place. "I will not forget the beauty of Batanes and of all the people! I shall pray that your beautiful islands stay just the way they are. Simple, peaceful and beautiful." She continues, "Shooting our film in such a charming place almost felt like we weren’t working at all. I shall be back."
Aurora premieres on December 25.
