You Can Now Control Your Spotify Playlist While Using Google Maps
Goodbye, distracted driving!
(SPOT.ph) So, you've finally decided where you and your friends are heading for your road trip. You've also spent the previous night packing and painstakingly curating the perfect playlist with all the latest songs. The only problem is, you'll need to look at the directions on Google Maps while putting the next song on queue. The good news is, you can now connect your Spotify account with your Google Maps app, so you can seamlessly play your jams—while driving through traffic jams.
All you have to do is update your apps for Spotify and Google Maps to their latest versions. Once you open Google Maps, connect your Spotify account so you can enable the playback controls. That means you can play, pause, and skip your way through the songs.
If you want to find another tune that isn't on your playlist, you can open Spotify from Google Maps, too. So now, you don't have to go back to the home screen and search for the app. Once on Spotify, there'll also be a banner that'll prompt you to go back to your active navigation.
The feature will be available for Google Maps users within the next few days. The Google Maps and Spotify apps are available on the App Store for iOS users and on the Google Play Store for Android users.
