(SPOT.ph) The return of celebrated auteur Mike de Leon to the big screen was a highly anticipated one—his last film was released 19 years ago. He finally came back with Citizen Jake, a sociopolitical film starring Atom Araullo. After its premiere in May, Citizen Jake went on to have screenings in microcinemas and even at the Busan International Film Festival. And now, you can watch (or rewatch) the film in its entirety because it's available on video-on-demand. You can stream it for one month starting today, October 17, for only U.S. $3 (roughly around P160).Â
The film revolves around the journalist Jake's investigation of a murder, which eventually leads him to his own corrupt family. Aside from Araullo, the film also stars Cherie Gil, Gabby Eigenmann, Max Collins, Luis Alandy, Nonie Buencamino, and Teroy Guzman.
