You Can Soon Watch Your Favorite Pinoy TV Shows and Movies for Free

Including old favorites like Tabing Ilog, Gimik, Palibhasang Lalake!

( Remember the days when we had to stay alert so we wouldn't miss our favorite teleseryes? We've all been there. Waiting in front of the TV, fighting with someone else over who gets the remote, itching to watch the next episode of Gimik or Tabing Ilog, eyes glued on the TV screen until the preview for next episode comes along.

Now, you probably don't get home in time to watch your favorite local TV shows as they air. But iWant TV! has always been a lifesaver. The streaming service has been around since 2010, but on November 17, a new and improved version will be released, called iWant.

The current iWant TV is best known as an avenue for people to catch up on the shows they missed. The new iWant will focus instead on producing original films and series and allowing fans to stream Kapamilya shows, movies, music, and concerts. They'll also be offering magazines, books, and OPM albums.

The best part? According to ABS-CBN Digital Media head Elaine Uy-Casipit, "majority" of the content will be free. "We really want to open it up to as many people who want to watch it," she says.

iWant will have a bigger library in store for its users, from the latest blockbuster hits to older (like, really old) shows like Palibhasa Lalake, Tabing Ilog, and Gimik. If you're missing the shows you used to watch way back when, look them up and get ready for a nostalgic binge-watching session. You can also catch shows from ANC and livestreamed games from NCAA and UAAP.

Aside from its rich archive of old shows, you can expect to see more of their original content. Not only will you get your fix of Star Cinema films and restored movie classics; you'll also get to watch iWant originals like Ma (2018), Spirits Reawaken (2018) and Glorious (2018), which will be exclusive to the platform.

To top it all off, iWant will be showcasing a major redesign with a smarter search function and a stronger recommendation tool. It'll also be available as an app for both iOS and Android users. Plus, you can now watch offline by downloading whatever you want to watch on your gadget of choice.
