LANY, Moira dela Torre, and Ed Sheeran Are the Most Streamed Artists in the Philippines
BTS, Dua Lipa, and IV of Spades are on the list, too!
(SPOT.ph) Another year has gone by, but the Pinoy's love for their favorite artists remains the same, and you only need to look at Spotify's Wrapped 2018 data to prove it. It's no surprise that LANY is the most streamed artist in the Philippines—what with their sold-out shows in Manila, plus another concert happening in 2019. Trailing after the band is local singer-songwriter Moira dela Torre, whose album Malaya earned the most listeners. Ed Sheeran (2017's most-streamed artist), comes in at third place, since everyone had his Divide album on repeat, too. Rounding up the list is international K-Pop sensation BTS and Maroon 5 (who are also going to have a concert in Manila in 2019).
For the local artists, it seems that Pinoys also enjoyed listening to tunes from bands, since December Avenue, Ben&Ben, Parokya ni Edgar, and IV of Spades are in the Top 5. It looks like they've got a lot of feelings, since the tracks they listened to the most have some pretty hugot-worthy lines. (#Hugot is also the third most-streamed playlist, btw.) The tracks with the most streams include "Mundo" by IV of Spades, followed by "Kathang Isip" by Ben&Ben. They probably loved the attitude of Dua Lipa's "IDGAF" which comes in at third, which is followed by Dela Torre's "Tagpuan" and "The Middle" by Zedd, Maren Morris, and Grey.
Spotify's cool infographic sums everything up. Here's hoping all of the artists on the list announce a tour stop in the Philippines soon.
