(SPOT.ph) It's hard to believe it's been 20 years since Raimund Marasigan,
Myrene Academia, Mong Alcaraz, Diego Castillo, Mike Dizon, and former member Marc Abaya got together and formed Sandwich. (They even held an anniversary concert to celebrate!) Pinoy music fans have listened to their music back when you had to buy physical copies of CDs just to hear new releases. The good news is, you don't have to dig through your old stuff just to hear Sandwich's classic hits like "Butterfly Carnival" because you can now stream their first two albums, Grip Stand Throw and 4-Track Mind, on Spotify.
Grip Stand Throw, the band's debut album, won Album of the Year, Best New Artist, and Song of the Year at the now-defunct radio station NU 107's NU Rock Awards in 1999. Singles from the album include the titular song, "Butterfly Carnival," "Art To Di Too," and "Maybe."
Meanwhile, the singles from 4-Track Mind include "Food for the Soul," and "Hair Pin."
The news of the Spotify release was posted on the band's official Facebook page, though the band members also shared their excitement on Twitter. Abaya posted screenshot of songs and says, "Finally! My ‘formative years’ are now available on Spotify." So now, you can listen to their music that you grew up listening to along with their other hits like "Sugod," "Betamax," and "Sunburn."
