(SPOT.ph) It's not every day that you get to hear Pinoy rock legend Ely Buendia performing some of his greatest hits live. (Though you can count yourself lucky if you got to catch him perform with The Itchyworms earlier in February.) And it's especially not every day that you get to see the former Eraserheads frontman perform none other than "Ang Huling El Bimbo" with another great rock band—Kamikazee.

Those who attended the Campfire Sessions at Crystal Beach in Zambales held on February 16 were there to catch Kamikazee perform. Little did they know, the band had a surprise guest, who was none other than Buendia. He also performed Kamikazee's hit song "Narda" with the band.
In a Facebook post about the event, Kamikazee shares the story behind the surprise. "Wala kaming sinabihan kung sino yung guest namin...pati mismo organizers ng Campfire Sessions, hindi nila alam." The surprise almost went off without a hitch—until one week before the event, when vocalist Jay Contreras accidentally mentioned Buendia's name at a meeting.
Still, those who attended the event had no clue, so you can just imagine the thrill they felt when Buendia showed up to perform "Ang Huling El Bimbo" with the band.Â
As if the Eraserheads hit wasn't enough, fans were also treated to Buendia performing "Narda" with Kamikazee.Â
Kamikazee guitarist Jomal Linao also talks about the whole experience on his Facebook page on February 17, saying, "Sobrang kinikilig pa din ako hanggang ngayon! Ibang klase mga nangyari kagabi!" He thanks the fans who attended and says, "Sa susunod ulit na El Bimbo!" Maybe we'll see an official collab next!
