(SPOT.ph) Local film festivals and competitions are all about showcasing the best of what Filipino filmmakers to offer and if you're wondering what movie to watch next, Cinema One has just announced the eight Cinema One Original Films for 2019, which happens from November 7 to 17.
The films for the 15th edition of the festival will have screenings at TriNoma, Glorietta, Ayala Manila Bay, Gateway, and Power Plant Mall. There will also be screenings at Evia Lifestyle Center Vista Cinemas and in Cinema Centenario, Cinema 76, Black Maria, UP Cine Adarna, and FDCP Cinematheque Manila. Planning what to watch first? Here's a round up of the entries for this year's lineup.

Yours Truly, Shirley
In this Nigel Santos film, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid plays Shirley, a loving wife who mourns the death of her husband Ronaldo. Upon hearing a hit song by pop star Jhameson (Rayt Carreon), she is convinced that he is a reincarnation of her husband. Going through extreme lengths just to prove it, Shirley finds herself investing more of her time to the young idol as she battles the grief brought about by loneliness and the general lack of direction in her life.
O
Maria (Anna Luna), an intern at a morgue, encounters vampire Matilda (Sarah Carlos). The vampire initially threatens Maria but offers her a chance to live: become a blood pusher and sell dried-up blood to modern-day harmless vampires. Maria becomes a blood pusher for drug lord Matilda and acquires blood through unconventional and often unappealing means. In exchange for her life, she also gets to learn about the creatures that roam at night. The film also stars Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Lauren Young.
Tayo Muna Habang Hindi Pa Tayo
Alex (Jane Oineza) and Carlo (JC Santos)Â are a couple...that's not quite a couple. As the two engage in intimate acts and exchange romantic gestures, one is left wanting a clear-cut label to the relationship while the other doesn't care much for it and insists that labels aren't necessary to be happy. Failing to reach an agreement, they part ways, only to realize that comfort and happiness can't be found in other people either.
Metamorphosis
The coming-of-age film directed by Jose Enrique Tiglao focuses on Adam (Gold Aceron), a 14-year-old kid who was born with both male and female genitals. The movie also stars Ivan Padilla, Iana Bernardez, Yayo Aguila and Ricky Davao.
Utopia
The lives of a young videographer, a newbie police officer, and an undercover agent all meet in the city's grimey and dark underbelly of crime, corruption, and covert operations. The film is directed by Dustin Celestino and stars Joem Bascon, Enzo Pineda, and Arron Villaflor.
Sila-Sila
This film by Giancarlo Abrahan follows the life of a 30-something man who returns to Manila after years of losing contact and must reconnect with friends from the past and former lovers at a school reunion. It stars Gio Gahol and Topher Fabregas.
Tia Madre
A 10-year-old girl (Jana Agoncillo) moves into town with her irresponsible and alcoholic mother Emilia (Cherie Gil). The young girl later finds out that her mother absolutely detests being called "Mama" and tries to make it up to her by being a loving daughter with the hopes that everything will be back to normal.
Lucid
Ann Cruz (Alessandra de Rossi) lives a mundane life, but her world comes alive once she begins to dream. A lucid dreamer, she goes on adventures once she sleeps and encounters a man who challenges her to make her dreams even more exciting. When she meets another lucid dreamer in real life, the line separating reality and dreams is blurred.
