(SPOT.ph) You've seen Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker in Spider-Man and he's played Eduardo Saverin in The Social Network. While the actor is mostly known for his roles on the big screen, he also puts in the work on the stage (he's a Tony-award winner). He was last seen in the theater scene in 2018, and although his next project might not be a full return to the stage, it comes pretty close: He's set to star in the Netflix adaptation of musical Tick, Tick...Boom! which is to be directed by fellow thespian Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Tick, Tick...Boom! was originally written by Tony award-winning Rent composer Jonathan Larson, and it's a semi-autobigraphical musical that mirrors Larson's own fears and doubts about pursuing a career in the performing arts.
According to a report from Deadline, Garfield will play a persona of Larson named Jon, an aspiring theater writer who waits tables while writing a musical he hopes will become the big hit that pulls him out of his mundane life. But coupled with a dream this ambitious are people tired of waiting for his big break. As his 30th brithday looms near, Jon wonders if he even has a shot at the impossible dream. Miranda himself has previously played the character in a staging of the musical.

The release date for Netflix's Tick, Tick...Boom! has yet to be announced.
