Join the Fellowship: The LOTR Cast Is Reuniting for a Virtual Meetup

Watch them on Josh Gad's YouTube series!

( Nothing will ever compare to the magic of watching the original Lord of the Rings trilogy. Directed by James Cameron, the films set the gold standard for what epic fantasy movies should be—and we daresay are one of the few book-to-movie translations that left no one wanting. It's been nearly two decades since The Fellowship of the Ring came out and we're finally getting another chance to see our heroes together! The Lord of the Rings cast is reuniting on Josh Gad's YouTube series "Reunited Apart" on Sunday, May 31, at 9 a.m. PT (or Monday, June 1, at 12 a.m. in the Philippines).

Gad dropped one heck of a teaser for the reunion. Samwise Gamgee (Sean Astin) isn't fooling anyone with his normal people glasses—we all know you're a hobbit, Sam, it's alright! Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood), Merry Brandybuck (Dominic Monaghan), and Pippin Took (Billy Boyd) were also very covincing as humans. It was a bit disturbing to see Legolas (Orlando Bloom) without his signature blond locks—and unfortunately, it looks like his BFF Gimli (John Rhys-Davies) won't be joining.

We didn't see the brooding Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) nor Boromir (Sean Bean) either but we can't complain, especially since we got to hear Sir Ian McKellen in character as Gandalf. Best to mark your calendars and don't be late, seeing as you're not a wizard (we think.)
