Check Out These Parasite Virtual Backgrounds for Your Next Video Call
Including the Kims' home and the Parks' homes.
(SPOT.ph) 2020 may feel like it's been going on for about a decade even though we're only halfway through, but believe it or not we're still in the same year that Korean black comedy thriller Parasite made history and won Best Picture at the 92nd Acadamy Awards. You may have seen the movie one too many times by now, but here's something else to check out if you just can't get enough of Bong Joon Ho's satirical masterpiece: Parasite's official Twitter page in Japan just released virtual backgrounds that you can use for your video calls!
These virtual backgrounds feature familiar scenes from the film, including shots inside and outside of the Parks' architectural gem of a house as well as a shot from the Kims' basement home. You can use them to spruce up your video calll background at your next "E-numan" with friends or even as desktop and mobile wallpapers. Aside from being a way to appreciate the movie's impeccable set design and cinematography, these virtual backgrounds serve as a solemn reminder of Bong Joon Ho's message to viewers about poverty, privilege, and the lines between them that we sometimes fail to see—especially relevant in today's political and economic climate. Use these backgrounds as you please, but don't forget about the harsh realities lurking in the basement.
