(SPOT.ph) Remember when your bookshelves were filled with volumes of Animorphs, Goosebumps, Sweet Valley High, and The Baby-Sitters Club? Well, you'll be getting that last title back—this time as a TV series. Netflix just dropped the first trailer for the series adaptation and it is every bit the healthy dose of sweet and wholesome that the world needs right now. Catch the feel-good show on Netflix starting July 3.
Yup, you just saw a landline! The series, though now set in modern times, stays true to the OG club's phone service. Writer Ann M. Martin's leading group of baby-sitter entrepreneurs are now made up of Kristy Thomas (Sophie Grace), Mary Anne Spier (Malia Baker), Claudia Kishi (Momona Tamada), Stacey McGill (Shay Rudolph), and Dawn Schafer (Xochitl Gomez)—with '90s icon Cher, whoops, we meant Alicia Silverstone rounding out the nostalgia as Elizabeth Thomas-Brewer, single-mom to Kristy Thomas.
The Baby-Sitters Club had one heck of a following in the '90s. The adventures of the tween-agers spawned 213 titles and 176 million copies, two spinoff book series, a film, and an earlier TV series. Netflix's adaptation is proof there's something about this unbeatable group that people can't get enough of. Don't forget to mark your calendars and be ready for some nostalgia!
