LOOK: MOA's Concert Grounds Are Now an Epic Drive-In Cinema
Take a look at the first photos of "Movie by the Bay"!
(SPOT.ph) You may want to set a date, whether with your S.O., friends, family, or just yourself (we all could use a break)! The first pictures of the drive-in cinema at the Mall of Asia concert grounds have been released and it is giving us major cinematic vibes—we're not even talking about the actual screenings. "Movies by the Bay" opens up today, September 9, with their first showing. If you're wondering how this drive-in will work, check out the pics below!
Talk about a cinematic experience. The drive-in will operate Wednesdays to Sundays, with just one movie screening per day. On their slate for this week's showings are Train to Busan 2: Peninsula, sequel to the 2016 South Korean blockbuster hit, and Unhinged, which stars Russell Crowe. Tickets are at P400 pesos each, and that comes with popcorn, water, and beef franks.
Safety measures will of course be a big part of the drive-in cinema so best to take note! SM Cinema recommends two people to a vehicle, but you can go up to a maximum of four. Tickets have to be bought beforehand through their website and will not be sold at the venue itself. And most importantly, only those ages 21 to 59 years old will be allowed in, per the national quarantine guidelines.
So don't forget to bring your face masks and shields and all other protective measures if you want to catch an outdoor movie. Plus, you'll have to tune in to a specific FM radio frequency to get the movie's audio, so be sure to get there a little early to set things up.
