What went down before that Will Smith and Chris Rock moment at the 2022 Oscars?

Okay so, Rock was on stage to present the Oscar for best documentary feature; Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith were seated nearby. In the midst of Rock's spiel, he made a joke about Jada Pinkett being in the next G.I. Jane movie, a jab that did not land too well, it seems. The next thing the telecast recorded was Will Smith walking up to Rock and striking him, leaving the audience (live and online) befuddled as to whether that was scripted or what. Cue Will Smith yelling from his seat "Keep my wife’s name out of your f*cking mouth!" and Rock akwardly continuing.

Sean Combs, better known as P. Diddy, came out to present next and acknowledged the bad air in the room. He said "Will and Chris, we're going to solve that like family. Right now we're moving on with love."

Jada Pinkett Smith has spoken openly before about her struggle with hair loss. She has taken to social media to discuss her alopecia and currently rocks an epic bald look.

Meanwhile, the Internet has, as expected, reacted hard. From people condemning the violence to folks saying it was deserved, and yup, people just wanting the tea, we round up the wildest reactions below.
