(SPOT.ph) Can you believe that it's been almost three decades Slam Dunk, an anime adapted from a manga illustrated and written by Inoue Takehiko, started airing in 1993? Crazy. We're not saying you're old by the way, but just in case you're feeling nostalgic, let's kick it back some more. Back then, life was great and all we whined and worried about was surviving grade school and having to wait a day or three to see if Hanamichi Sakuragi and the rest of the Shōhoku High School basketball team wins the game.
Fast forward to 2022, we've all grown up—some taking bastketball as a hobby, while others inspired by the series, took up the sport as a career. And while there's nothing wrong with re-watching past episodes, we can't help but wish the new movie drops as soon as possible. But alas, we have to wait a little while longer as it's set to premiere on December 3 of this year.
Here's what we know about the Slam Dunk movie:
News about a potential Slam Dunk movie came out last year—and while limited information was available—it pretty much hyped every human being that grew up watching the anime. Earlier this week, the production house behind The First Slam Dunk released a slew of posters from the upcoming film. And if that doesn't sate your curiousity about the flick, the first official trailer dropped today, July 7, giving fans a sneak peak at what to expect. Check it out below.
No news yet as to when it will hit international cinemas, but fingers crossed that it's soon.
Slam Dunk follows the life of a delinquent Hanamichi Sakuragi who joins his school basketball team in hopes of getting closer to his crush but eventually learns to love the sport and go after the national championships with the rest of the team.
