Vice Ganda starts anti-bullying movement with #ProudToBeMe
Have a bit of positivity today!
(SPOT.ph) There are plenty of things to be happy about today, like the fact that it's Friday and payday! We're giving you even more reason to stay positive.
Vice Ganda took to Instagram on Thursday to post a makeup- and costume-free selfie with the hashtag #ProudToBeMe, kicking off a self-positivity movement on social media.
This comes after his advice to a bullied teenager during It's Showtime earlier that day. "Kailangan tanggap mo ang kahirapan mo kasi kapag tanggap mo ang sarili mo at kahinaan mo, walang sino mang tao ang may karapatang gumamit nito laban sa iyo," he said. "Be proud of yourself."
He removed his contact lenses, hair extensions, and makeup to prove his point on embracing one's flaws.
Even Boy Abunda discussed the topic on Aquino & Abunda Tonight, where he candidly talked about how he was often teased because of his nose and dark skin. "It takes a journey, it takes a lot of failure, it takes a lot of victories for you to be able to have that character and strength and courage to appreciate who you are," he said.
