(SPOT.ph) Variety show host Willie Revillame admitted to reporters on August 5 that he lost almost P50 million as host and producer of his GMA game show, Wowowin. The show has only been on air for three months.
"Okay lang ‘yan, pera lang naman 'yon. Alam mo, pera lang 'yan, kikitain natin 'yan," he said. "Tsaka, nagsimula naman tayo sa Wowowee [of ABS-CBN], wala naman akong pera, e. So, ibinabalik ko lang lahat 'yon [sa tao]."
Earlier reports said that the show was going off air "due to financial woes," but it looks like the show is going to stay on. The network will be moving its timeslot from 3:30 p.m. on Sundays to 2 p.m. on the same day, right after GMA's other new variety show, Sunday PinaSaya (which features Marian Rivera and Ai-Ai delas Alas).
Willie said that he will continue to produce Wowowin until GMA grants him daily airing. "I’ll be honest, may mga properties ako na puwede namang ibenta na hanggang ma-maintain ko lang ‘to."
If only everyone else could afford the same outlook on money as Willie does.
