What's with all the fuss about It's Showtime's Pastillas Girl?
People are pitting her against AlDub's Maine Mendoza.

(SPOT.ph) Many have hailed her as It's Showtime's answer to Eat Bulaga's Yaya Dub. But who exactly is Pastillas Girl?

The Internet first met Angelica Jane Yap a.k.a. Pastillas Girl through a now-viral video where she narrates the steps to making (very bittersweet) pastillas. The hugot online sensation then made two separate appearances on It's Showtime.
She first appeared on the show's adVice segment, where she shared her story of heartbreak. According to Angelica, her boyfriend left her for her best friend. In a later episode (above), It's Showtime co-host Vice Ganda helped her search for her "Pastillas Boy," with one member of the studio audience volunteering to help her move on.

Meanwhile, some viewers are already hoping her search for love would be made into a "Twitterserye." It's easy to see the comparisons between her and Maine Mendoza; they're both non-showbiz girls who shot to Internet fame, and they both participate in "unscripted" segments on two competing noontime shows.
Still, some people have said that Pastillas Girl's famous spiel wasn't even hers to begin with. A girl named Miel Francisco says she originally came up with the pastillas recipe. Angelica took to her Facebook page (above) to apologize for not giving credit in her video.
