PHOTOS: Pia Wurtzbach explores Peru
Miss Universe made Lima even more beautiful than it already is.
(SPOT.ph) A few days ago, Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach flew to Latin America for the first time to help crown Miss Peru 2016. The title eventually went to Valeria Piazza, whom Pia congratulated via her Instagram account below:
She also took time to explore Peru, particularly the Barranco district of Lima, best known for its romantic and bohemian neighborhoods. She visited Barranco's shops, where she bought herself an adorable stuffed animal.
Pia also visited the Bridge of Sighs or Puente de los Suspiros, a wooden walkway than runs through Lima. It's said that if you're able to completely cross the bridge while holding your breath, you'll find true love—which Pia, of course, gamely tried.
She also tried ceviche (which she said tasted a lot like kilawin), ate some street food, and admired street art along Barranca's streets.
In an Instagram post yesterday, April 25, Pia bid Peru good-bye but promised to return with friends. First on her itinerary when she comes back? Macchu Picchu!
