10 Celebrities We Love From YES! 100 Most Beautiful Stars 2016
Who made it to this year's list?
(SPOT.ph) Every year, YES! rounds up an extensive list of famous faces for their 100 Most Beautiful Stars issue. This year, it's the viral love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza that graces the cover, officially crowned 2016's Most Beautiful Stars. We looked past the cover, however, and set our gazes on the other celebrities who made the list. From long-time favorites to buzzing newbies, we round up 10 of our favorites.
Lovi Poe may have one of the most recognizable surnames in the industry, but she has definitely grown out of her father's shadow. She remains one of GMA Network's most prominent leading ladies, but still showing off her acting skills in indie films. Plus, have you seen those abs?! We need to head to the gym now.
James Reid and Nadine Lustre
Nothing makes fangirls happier than seeing their favorite love team go from reel to real. JaDine always has everyone swooning, whether it's their super-sweet off-camera moments or their scenes in TV shows and movies. Their upcoming teleserye looks promising, too!
Echo has come a long way from his days in the classic teleserye, Pangako Sa 'Yo, which aired in 2000. (Yes, it's been almost 16 years!) These days, he's still a mainstay in rom-coms and nightly dramas, but he's also a travel junkie with his wife, Kim Jones. It turns out he has a penchant for photography, too!
Seriously, what can't this girl do? She dabbles (and excels) in pretty much everything, whether it's acting, singing, modeling, or painting. Plus, we're big fans of gorgeous women who are also laidback and have a good sense of humor...and she's got this in spades.
We often see Paulo Avelino playing the third wheel (Bridges of Love, Walang Hanggan, and On the Wings of Love). And yet, he's so charismatic that he still manages to stand out, whatever love triangle he ends up in. We can't wait for his standalone indie flick as Gregorio Del Pilar!
Did you know that Arci Munoz got her start in showbiz through the reality show StarStruck? But her star didn't really shine until she scored a cameo role in A Second Chance and later, a starring role in the now-defunct sexy series Pasion de Amor. She's going to be very busy this year, with an upcoming drama in ABS-CBN and a dramedy called Camp Sawi.
Kylie Padilla may be the daughter of Robin Padilla, but she's certainly made her own way in the industry. After a string of small roles in TV series, she finally landed a lead role in the highly anticipated sequel-slash-reboot of Encantadia, where she plays the kind-hearted Amihan.
It's hard to believe that Julia Montes is only 21 years old, considering the depth she injects into her roles. She catapulted to fame through the Mara Clara remake but quickly shed her teen image with mature, criticically acclaimed projects like Ikaw Lamang and Walang Hanggan. Instead of taking the usual love team route, she took on the challenging, dual role of twin sisters in Doble Kara.
Jodi Sta. Maria
Jodi Sta. Maria's Tabing Ilog days are far behind her. After 15 years of doing supporting roles, she starred in the breakout daytime series Be Careful With My Heart that aired for a whopping 28 months. She then took on the vengeful role of Amor Powers in the Pangako Sa 'Yo remake, followed by successful rom-coms with director Antoinette Jadaone.
Ian Veneracion's career has covered just about everything, from child star to young action star to matinee idol. When it comes to his fans, his charm knows no age. He's also slated to do more projects, including a new primetime series and a thriller film with acclaimed director Jerrold Tarog.
