Christopher De Leon's daughter shortlisted for Best National Costume in Binibining Pilipinas
She seems to be an early fan-favorite, too.
(SPOT.ph) After falling short of the Binibining Pilipinas crown in 2013, Mariel De Leon seems to be emerging as an early front-runner for the 2017 title.
The daughter of Sandy Andolong and Christopher De Leon is Candidate #15, who strut her stuff alongside her fellow candidates for the National Costume competition. According to the pageant's official Facebook page, Mariel is one of the Top 10 finalists, donning a beautifully intricate white number by Cary Santiago. She also had a matching headdress and a pair of fans:
Joining the Top 10 National Costume list are Asia's Next Top Model finalist Katarina Rodriguez, who wore a queenly blue and white Filipiniana by Francis Libiran...
...British-Filipina model Sirene Sutton in an artsy and colorful dress...
...and model Chanel Olive Thomas in a head-turning gold ensemble by Edwin Uy. So far, she's currently leading the votes to win the costume category.
Voting for your favorites is until Friday, April 28. The pageant is happening this Sunday, April 30.
