Get to know Binibining Pilipinas-Intercontinental winner Katarina Rodriguez
She may or may not give up the crown, but she's still a queen in every way.
(SPOT.ph) The Binibining Pilipinas pageant may be over by now, but the glamorous event is still the talk of the town, with Miss Intercontinental winner Katarina Rodriguez at the center of it all.
According to a report from PEP.ph, she may or may not be losing (or resigning) her crown over an alleged residency issue. She addressed the issue via social media, saying, "I never made any announcements that I'm not accepting the crown. Is it alright if everyone refrains from making assumptions first?"
As we wait for all the events to unfold, we decided to get to know Katarina—who was actually one of the early favorites to win a Binibining Pilipinas crown.
She placed second runner-up in Asia's Next Top Model.
Katarina is no stranger to competitions, landing in the finals of Asia's Next Top Model in 2014. According to a 2014 interview with Preview.ph, it was her first ever modeling gig! "My first photo shoot was the first episode of the show," she admitted.
She advocates for HIV/AIDS awareness.
Katarina has been a youth ambassador for The Red Whistle's #SaveSexy campaign since 2016.
She has a degree in Business Management and Philosophy from De La Salle University.
Katarina was also part of the university's track and field team, and she tells Preview.ph that she's been a runner since she was 14. She's also a dedicated boxer, and posts plenty of photos from the gym.
Katarina is an avid reader.
When she isn't posing for various modeling campaigns, she likes to wind down with a good book. She even has a cozy library nook in her home!
She's a certified beach bum.
From paddleboarding to surfing or just enjoying the sun and the sea, Katarina happily posts snapshots of her adventures to the beach.
