Miss Universe Veterans Pia, Gloria, and Margie Share Advice for Rachel Peters

(SPOT.ph) The Miss Universe coronation night is right around the corner—on Monday, November 26 to be exact—and the Philippines bet, Rachel Peters, is already in Las Vegas slaying the preliminaries. The pageant has refreshingly undergone many changes through the years, now going beyond looks and zeroing in on intelligence and awareness.
Former Miss Universe winners (and current Magnolia Chicken endorsers) Gloria Diaz, Margie Moran, and Pia Wurtzbach all agree that it definitely takes more than just a bright smile and a perfect figure to wear the crown.

Margie adds that competing with 93 other hopefuls is no joke and the odds are admittedly slim, but there’s more to the experience than just the crown. "I would advise the current Binibini, Rachel, that winning [Miss Universe] is the goal and to aim for it. But there is a greater possibility that you will not get it. So savor the experience because it is a good story to tell and something better is meant for you."
As for Pia, it’s all about both focus and light-heartedness. "Forget the noise and just have fun! A lot of people will try to overload you with information but remember it’s you in that competition. Miss Universe should be fun; it shouldn't be a heavy burden put on somebody.”
