(SPOT.ph) No matter how many years it's been, fans of Eraserheads will always be waiting for a reunion. They got their hopes up last night, December 3, when Raymund Marasigan posted a video with the caption, "Praktis before Game 2" on his Twitter account. Chances are, he's talking about the highly anticipated UP-Ateneo game for the UAAP Season 81 Men's Basketball that's happening tomorrow, December 5.
In the video, Marasigan and Eraserheads bandmates Buddy Zabala and Marcus Adoro perform the song "Minsan" with a blond-haired mystery man. People were quick to assume that it was none other than frontman Ely Buendia, who's been sporting a similar hairdo lately. Rumors swirled that the band—which was formed during the members' time in UP—was reuniting for a performance at the game. Adoro also teased the idea on his own Instagram page. But Buendia, who was in Cebu when the video was posted, was quick to deny that he was the one in the video.
On his Twitter account, Buendia says, "Whoever that blond guy in the video is, it’s not me," he says. Still, he acknowledges the exciting Battle of Katipunan game that's bound to happen. "I wish both UAAP teams the best of luck, though." He also posted a couple more tweets talking about the video and getting hopes up.
Well, reunion or not, fans can still get their Eraserheads fix—their classic album Ultraelectromagneticpop! was reissued for its 25th anniversary in November. Buendia's indie music label, Offshore Music collaborated with legendary Bernie Grundman and Sony Music Philippines for the album's remastered version.
