Kanye West sorry for upstaging Taylor Swift

Kanye West has apologized in his blog for upstaging 17-year-old country-pop singer, Taylor Swift, at the MTV Video Music Awards, reports AP. Swift won Best Female Video for her song "You Belong With Me," and while she was giving her acceptance speech, West got up on stage, grabbed the mic from Swift, and said, "Hey Taylor, I'm really happy for you, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time."   Click here to watch the video.

Swift looked humiliated onstage but the audience gave her a standing ovation. Later that night when Beyonce accepted her Best Video award for "Single Ladies", she invited the 17-year old singer back onstage. "I remember being 17 years old and up for my first MTV award with Destiny's Child. It was one of the most exciting moments in my life. So, I'd like for Taylor to come out and have her moment."

After the awards, West posted an apology on his website: "I'M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM," Kanye wrote on his site, AP reported. "I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD'VE SAID. SHE IS VERY TALENTED!"

Backstage after the show, Swift said, "I thought that I couldn't love Beyonce more and then tonight happened and it was just wonderful."
