Bayani Fernando to run for Vice President?

Lakas-Kampi official and Local Water Utilities Administration chairman, Prospero Pichay, claims Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chair Bayani Fernando has agreed to run for Vice President, reports GMANews.tv.

Fernando had been openly seeking the administration party's endorsement as presidential candidate for the 2010 elections until Sec. Gilbert Teodoro emerged as Lakas-Kampi's pick. He denied Pichay's claim, telling GMANews.tv: "Wala akong sinasabing ganun (I said no such thing)."

Fernando added that he has not yet decided what his next political step would be, though he had previously stated that running as an independent candidate was an option he was considering.
