Actress Brittany Murphy, 32, dies from cardiac arrest
Actress Brittany Murphy died on December 20 in Los Angeles at 10:04 a.m after going into full cardiac arrest, reports the New York Daily News. Her mother found her unconscious in the shower and called 911, after which paramedics arrived and tried to revive her with CPR en route to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, but were unsuccessful.
Murphy is best known for her debut role as the awkward sidekick in the 1995 teen movie Clueless. She also appeared in over 25 movies including 8 Mile, Girl Interrupted, Don't Say a Word, and Sin City.
TMZ reports that Murphy's husband Simon Monjack told staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center that he does not want an autopsy performed on his deceased wife.
Former flame Ashton Kutcher, with whom Murphy starred in the 2003 movie Just Married, posted on Twitter: "See you on the other side kid . . . 2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine. My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany's family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon."
