Sharon Cuneta wins "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" again
"Megastar" Sharon Cuneta won P2 Million on Saturday, January 9 on TV5's game show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, reports ABS-CBN News.
Cuneta won the top prize for her selected charity, Hospicio De San Jose, after correctly answering the question, "What ingredient was used to make the witches' brew in William Shakespeare's Macbeth?" A nervous Cuneta chose "Lizard's leg."
Cuneta breezed through the first set of questions as she exchanged playful banter with Millionaire host Vic Sotto. Some of the other questions asked were: the mark that Zorro leaves behind (Z), the French word for "thank you" (merci), and the Broadway musical featuring Abba songs (Mamma Mia!). The Megastar used her final lifeline when she called "Direk" Joey Reyes to help her give the original name of Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA). The director correctly answered Junio 19, Jose Rizal's birthday, which earned her P1 Million.
This is Cuneta's second win on the game show after bagging P1 Million in 2001. She answered Nanook of the North when then host Christopher De Leon asked her to name Robert Flaherty's 1922 documentary. Cuneta then decided to take the money for her charity instead of going for the P2 Million prize.
Though she only finished high school at International School Manila, Cuneta is a voracious reader. After taking some non-credit courses in Boston over a decade ago while her husband, Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan, took post-graduate studies at Harvard, Cuneta resumed her studies by taking an Associate in Arts Degree course in the University of the Philippines' Open University. She ranked second highest when she took the entrance exams in 2006.
