As the campaign period heats up, it's amusing to see the Presidentiables doing things they once refused to do. Senator Richard "Dick" Gordon once said, "I sing but I don't dance." But that's exactly what he's done.
Three days ago, the tough-talking Gordon's "In the Jungle" lip-synch-and-dance number with popular YouTube duo Moymoy Palaboy was uploaded, GMANews.TV reports. Since then, the video has garnered over 55,000 views and nearly 600 comments. Moymoy Palaboy's manager Mitch Razote told GMANews.TV that the duo came up with the quirky number because they thought Gordon was the "most impressive" presidential aspirant, and that they wanted to show the senator's "other side." According to the duo Gordon was a quick study, easily adapting to their lip-synch act.
Many viewers gave Gordon's act a thumbs up. "Nice one, Mr. Gordon," wrote user chanlatican07. "At least there is someone with a smile not the usual presidential candidate's serious face." But others thought otherwise. "Gee, great! A possible next president of the Philippines doing that. This is just sad, " wrote user ajdocumentary. Then there's user crizuki091 who wrote, "I don't like Gordon but I like the (video)."
Will votes for the video translate to real votes for Gordon? Or will his newfound YouTube fame just last 15 minutes? Well, at least he won't have to worry about exceeding the campaign air time limit set by the Commission on Elections.
