San Beda grad tops bar exams, SC releases list of passers
Reinier Paul Yebra of the San Beda College, who got a score of 84.99, topped the 2009 Bar Exams, GMANews.TV reports. The long-awaited results of the exam administered in September last year were released just this evening.
Out of 5,903 examinees, only 1,451 made the cut in the country's most recent Bar exams. The passing rate was lowered from 75 percent to 71 percent, said Justice Antonio Eduardo B. Nachura, chair of the 2009 Committee on Bar Examinations, according to an article on the Supreme Court website.
Coming in at second place is Yebra's schoolmate, Charlene Mae Tapic, with a score of 84.60. John Paul Lim of the Ateneo de Manila University place third with 84.50.
Completing the top ten list are the following, with their corresponding scores:
Caroline Lagos, 84.40;
Eric David Tan, 84.05;
Yves-Randolph Gonzalez, 83.90;
Joan Mae To, 83.65;
Herminio Bagro III, 83.40;
Timothy Joseph Lumauig, 83.20;
Naealla Rose Bainto, 83.10; and
Sheila Abigail Go, 83.10.
The Supreme court has also released the complete list of of successful examinees online.
