Noynoy slams Villar for "exploiting" Baby James, says he's protecting nephew from crush of campaign sorties
Amidst the brouhaha that ensued after Sen. Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III's nephew accidentally "endorsed" his closest rival for the presidency, Aquino said he asked his celebrity sister Kris Aquino to stop bringing her son, Baby James Yap, along on the campaign trail, Inquirer.net reports. Nacionalista Party candidate Sen. Manuel Villar was said to have "openly relished" the fact that the toddler blurted out "Villar!" on the microphone onstage during a recent Liberal Party sortie in Bacolod City.
Aquino maintained he was just worried that his two-year-old nephew might end up getting hurt during the sorties. "He's so huggable and kurutable (people like to pinch him). He might get hurt and say 'Ow!' and then pinch back," he told reporters covering his campaign in Pampanga province.
He also posed a question to Villar: "Are the supporters of my rival so few that they need to claim the word of a two-year-old as an endorsement?"
